Now they made a real fix to a good app.

Just downloaded the newest version, 1.2.6. Now works again with Mountain Lion (10.8.5). Back to five stars. Great app.

I love this app! It’s a great way to get a good summary on the news, and if you pay the small upgrade fee you can add your own sources. It’s never crashed on me, has great features, small footprint, beautifully designed! The iOS version is a must as well, love it!

Finally, a really useful news app! Succinct, timely, easy to use and gets to the heart of the latest news. Much better than apps that have videos, which don’t always work. I have downloaded the iOS version and have told several friends and family about this great app!

NO BS, no videos with amazingly boring ads, just the news. If you are into fluff check out CNN or Fox or whatever. If you want just the news then download this app.

I like that the interface is subtle, unintrussive and that it does have many of the news sources that I commonly use. However, there are many more that are not listed; true that one can add the feed manually but that’s what separates good from great. SO, next version do an “Additional Sources” and list at least 50 more sources, then I’ll give you 4 stars.

Great fast news but none of the buttons work. I can turn it on and play from start. Sometimes I can pause. But I can’t go back to replay, cant go forward to skip something I am not interested in. Always have to start at the beginning. I have latest iOS. Don’t know what problem is but I still use it daily.

I listen to it every day. I can do this with ease.

Hourly News is intuitive, has a lightweight UI, is relatively customizable, and most importantly it works. A couple things I would like to see added: (1) a community-driven repository of custom sources, and (2) better handling of connection issues (too often it has trouble connecting and skips right away, where when I go back and replay the same source it works - gives up too easily, in my opinion (this is most annoying when it disconnects in the middle of a report and you lose your place)). Once these issues are worked out I will switch from 4 to 5 stars.

This is great to get the latest news. Lots of customization. Easy to use. Reliable.

the app works ok, I had to restart my computer for it to work properly. it could have more default sources to coose from

I seldom write reviews but Hourly News has been my favorite app for a long time. I had almost given up on keeping up with world news. It solved a big problem for me very simply. No learning curve required. I love comparing news as it’s told in different parts of the world, keeping up with technology developments and now even follow big sporting news which I had completely abandonded. Right now I’m listening to people from Toronto singing the french national anthem showing support after a terrorist attack. Thanks, Hourly News.

I like the simplicity of it allowing me recent news updates when I have the time to listen. I would give it 6 stars if it had an alarm feature that would wake me up with a new update as well.

I look forward every morning to hear about what happened the night before, with this app. Haven’t purchased the edition allowing one to choose other sources because the standard offerings - ABC, BBC, FOX, etc - are all I need.

- No volume control makes this app a pain. It plays louder then my audio apps.

Love it. Sometimes you just want a quick fix on the news. So far the better of 24/7 news apps. Keep up the good work. Hope more stations are added.
